F.A.Q

What is a fanzine?

An unofficial zine based on any fandom where artists and writers collaborate. Usually compiled into a booklet.Theme: Winter Solstice / New Years

Is the zine physical or digital?

As this is a free open submission zine, it will be digital.

Why is this an open submission zine?

Zines typically have hundreds of applications and not everyone gets in. It's not easy to keep applying when you've had multiple rejections too. This zine is an opportunity to collaborate instead of compete, to get to work with other people and have loads of fun!

Can I collaborate with someone?

You sure can! You can either create fics, page art or have writer - artist collaborations too. i.e if you are a writer and know a artist you want to work with, feel free to pair up!

Are AUs allowed?

Both canon and AUs are totally okay.

Can I create multiple pieces?

We ask that you stick to one fic or one artwork per person unless you're doing art for the same fic. This is because we're keeping it open but we don't want the final pdf to be too heavy.

Can I publish to A03 or social media?

Until the final zine comes out in January, please don't share the final artwork or fic anywhere. This is so we can create some suspense and have an element of surprise as viewers it altogether by January! You can definitely post to your socials and A03 after that.

Should I make something new or submit old art/fic?

Make something new for the zine! You can reuse an old idea or anything but please don't submit a full work you did ages ago, for the zine.

Are pitches necessary?

You don't have to submit an idea while signing up, but please have some general idea during our Pitches timeframe - September 1- 15. This is so we can ensure we have a variety of pieces and characters! That being said, if you have an idea and it doesn't work out while you start on it and you want something new, don't hesitate to change it up. Just let us know what your changed idea is.
